Oatmeal chocolate chip cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 3 item
- pkg - 1 oz
- packed brown sugar - 1 c
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- all-purpose flour
- chopped walnuts - 3/4 c
- baking cocoa - 1 tsp
- uncooked oatmeal - 1 c
How to make oatmeal chocolate chip cake:
Baking Temperature: 350°. Baking Time: 30 to 35 minutes.In a mixing bowl, pour water over oatmeal. Allow to stand 10 minutes. Add sugars and butter, stirring until the butter melts. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Sift flour, soda, cocoa and salt together. Add to batter. Mix well. Stir in half of the chocolate chips. Pour into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle top of cake with walnuts and remaining chips. Bake.
