  • oatmeal - 1 c
  • boiling water
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • oleo - 1/2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • flour
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • melted oleo
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • coconut - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp

How to make oatmeal cake:

Frosting:6 Tbsp. melted oleo1/2 c. brown sugar1/4 c. milk1 c. coconut1 tsp. vanilla Pour water over oats and let stand 20 minutes. Mix together sugars, oleo and eggs. Add oats. Mix well. Add flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and soda. Bake in 13 x 9-inch pan at 350° for 30 minutes.

Frosting: Mix all ingredients. Pour over warm cake and put under broiler until brown.
