  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • boiling water
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • powdered sugar
  • margarine
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • oats - 1 c
  • Pet milk - 1/4 c

How to make oatmeal cake:

Icing:1/2 c. margarine1 c. brown sugar1/4 c. Pet milk1 3/4 c. powdered sugar Pour boiling water over oats. Add butter and let stand 30 minutes. Add brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla and eggs. Mix by hand. Add flour, soda and salt. Mix all together and pour into pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch). Bake for 30 minutes at 350° or until done.

Icing: Melt margarine in saucepan. Add brown sugar and boil for 2 minutes. Add milk and bring to a boil. Set off and add powdered sugar, 1 cup nuts and coconut, if desired.
