  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • butter - 4 Tbsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • boiling water
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • quick oats - 1 c
  • stick oleo - 1 item
  • canned milk - 1/4 c
  • Add beaten eggs and vanilla

How to make oatmeal cake:

Pour boiling water over oats and let stand 20 minutes, then add butter and sugars; mix well. Add beaten eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. Add and mix well. Bake in a 13 x 9-inch pan at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.Topping:1 c. coconut1 c. brown sugar1/4 c. canned milk4 Tbsp. butter Mix all together and spread on cake while hot; place under broiler until golden brown.
