Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 item
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • boiling water
  • cream - 1/4 c
  • oleo - 1/2 c
  • oatmeal - 1 c

How to make oatmeal cake:

Icing:6 Tbsp. oleo1/4 c. cream1 c. coconut2/3 c. brown sugar1/2 tsp. vanilla Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let stand 20 minutes. Add rest of ingredients and put in 8 x 12-inch pan, greased. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. (May use 1/2 recipe for small glass dish.)

Icing: Combine ingredients and spread over hot cake. Put under broiler to brown.
