Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- half and half - 3 Tbsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- coconut - 3/4 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- shortening - 1/2 c
- nuts, chopped - 1/2 c
- white sugar - 1 c
- regular oatmeal - 1 c
- salt, cinnamon and nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- Cream the shortening and sugars
How to make oatmeal cake:
Pour boiling water over oatmeal and cool. Cream the shortening and sugars. Add eggs and cooled oatmeal. Add sifted dry ingredients and vanilla. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.Icing:1/4 c. butter1/2 c. brown sugar3 Tbsp. hRecipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
