Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- hot water
- oatmeal - 1 c
- white sugar - 1 c
- raisins to taste optional - 1 item
How to make oatmeal cake:
Pour hot water over oatmeal and let stand for 20 minutes. Cream the shortening, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients and oatmeal. Mix thoroughly. Stir in raisins. Bake in greased 9 x 13 pan at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool and frost with peanut butter frosting.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
