Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- coconut - 1 c
- oil - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- nuts, chopped - 1 c
- oatmeal - 1 c
- stick melted margarine - 1 item
- Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs one at a time
How to make oatmeal cake:
Pour boiling water in oatmeal; set aside. Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs one at a time. Combine dry ingredients and stir into mixture. Add vanilla and oatmeal mixture. Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350° for 20 minutes.Topping:2 egg yolks1 tsp. milk1 stick melted margarine1 c. brown sugar1 c. coconut1 c. nuts, chopped Beat all ingredients for topping together and spread onto cake, return cake to oven and brown until bubbly.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
