Multi grain bread
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/8 c
- water - 8 c
- oil - 1 c
- all-purpose flour
- rolled oats - 2 c
- honey - 1 c
- whole wheat flour
- yeast - 3 Tbsp
- gluten flour - 3/4 c
- rolled wheat - 1 c
- rolled barley - 1 c
- rolled rye - 1 c
How to make multi grain bread:
Note: All rolled oats can be used.Heat water very warm. Add the rolled grains, oil, honey and salt. When it cools to lukewarm, add the yeast. Mix the gluten and whole wheat flour together and add, mixing well. Add as much all-purpose flour as you can, using a spoon to mix.
Then turn out on a floured surface and knead in more flour until dough is no longer sticky (about 10 minutes). Let rise, covered, in a warm place until doubled. Punch down, let rise again, shape into 6 medium loaves. Use greased pans. Let rise again. Bake 10 minutes at 400°, then 30 minutes at 350°. Cool on rack. Yummy!!
