Ingredients/Components

  • water to cover - 1 item
  • salt & pepper to taste - 1 item
  • medium diced onions - 2 item
  • jar home canned tomatoes - 1 item
  • lb diced, trimmed lamb meat floured - 2 item
  • large potatoes diced - 6 item
  • large carrots diced - 8 item
  • turnips diced secret ingredient - 4 item

How to make mulligan stew:

Fry floured meat until brown, drain and discard fat.

Add all ingredients except the potatoes, cover with water and simmer for several hours, preferably on the back of a coal stove. Add potatoes the last half hour before serving.

Serve hot with fresh hot homemade bread. What a feast!
