Molasses oatmeal bread
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- salt
- flour - 6 8
- boiling water - 2 c
- molasses - 1/2 c
- rolled oats - 2 c
- yeast - 3 pkg
- canola oil - 1/2 c
How to make molasses oatmeal bread:
Will need three 8 3/4 x 4 3/4 x 2 3/4-inch bread pans.Mix first five ingredients and cool to lukewarm. Soak 3 packages of yeast in 3/4 cup warm water for 5 minutes. Stir into first mixture.
Add eggs and 6 to 8 cups flour. Knead 8 to 10 minutes. Let rise in bowl in a warm place until doubled. Punch down. Divide into thirds and shape into 3 loaves.
Place in a greased loaf pan. Let rise again and bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Spread with butter or margarine while hot.
