sugar - 1 c
cinnamon - 1 tsp
flour - 2 c
baking soda - 2 tsp
egg - 1 item
molasses - 1/4 c
Crisco - 3/4 c
cloves - 1 tsp

How to make molasses cookies:

Mix by hand the first 3 ingredients. Mix together egg, flour, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves. Mix shortening and sugar well. Add molasses and egg. Beat well. Add flour mixture. Mix well. Pinch a small piece of cookie mixture. Roll into a small ball. Dip into sugar. Put on cookie sheet and press down with bottom of small glass that has been greased and sugared. Do not grease pan. Bake in 300° oven for 15 minutes.
