Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 4 item
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • water - 2/3 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • shortening - 2/3 c
  • all-purpose flour
  • raisins - 2/3 c
  • pecans - 1 c
  • ground cloves - 1 tsp
  • cooked, mashed pumpkin - 2 c

How to make moist pumpkin bread:

Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs; mix well. Stir in pumpkin and water. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves. Add to creamed mixutre. Mix well. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes at 350° in 2 well greased and floured loaf pans, 9 x 5 x 3-inches.
