Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 Tbsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- vegetable oil - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- unsweetened cocoa - 3/4 c
- softened butter - 1/2 c
- hot coffee - 1 c
- Add oil, milk and coffee mix at medium speed for 2 minutes
How to make moist chocolate cake:
Sift together dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Add oil, milk and coffee mix at medium speed for 2 minutes. Add eggs; beat 2 more minutes (batter will be thin). Add vanilla. Pour into two 9 x 1 1/2-inch greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 325° for 25 to 30 minutes or until done. Let cool before removing from pan.Icing:1 c. milk5 Tbsp. flour1/2 c. softened butter1/2 c. shortening1 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla Combine milk and flour in saucepan; cook until thick. Cover and refrigerate. In mixing bowl, beat butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla until creamy. Add chilled flour mixture; beat for 10 minutes. Frost the cooled cake.
