Mock chicken fried steak
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 item
- egg - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- onion powder - 1 item
- cracker or bread crumbs - 2 c
How to make mock chicken fried steak:
Combine egg into ground beef, then work in enough crumbs to absorb moisture. Sprinkle with salt and onion powder; make 1/4 cup balls and roll out on a board sprinkled with crumbs. Fry in pan with a small amount of oil. There have been times when I pureed onions and added them. Once rolled these freeze well for the future.The recipe was given to me by my cousin Cathy Biehl Hanson in Lexington, Nebraska.
