Mocha pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 2/3 c
- sifted cake flour - 2 c
- cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
- instant coffee - 1 Tbsp
- melted chocolate - 2 sq
How to make mocha pound cake:
Stir shortening to soften. Sift in flour, sugar, instant coffee, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt. Mix in water and vanilla until flour is dampened. Beat vigorously 2 minutes. Add eggs and chocolate. Beat 1 minute.Pour into paper-lined loaf pan. Bake at 325° for 65 to 70 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove when cool. Sift confectioners sugar over top.
