Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1/4 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour
- evaporated milk - 1/3 c
- cocoa - 1/3 c
- shortening - 1 c
- box confectioners sugar - 1 item
- pecans - 1 c
- marshmallows - 1 pkg
- Add eggs and beat
How to make mississippi mud cake:
Cream sugar and shortening together. Add eggs and beat. Sift flour and salt. Combine cocoa. Add to sugar mixture. Add nuts and vanilla. Pour into greased 13 1/2 x 9 1/2-inch pan. Bake 30 minutes at 300°. Remove from oven and cover with marshmallows. Return to oven about 10 minutes to melt marshmallows. Then ice with frosting.Mississippi Mud Frosting:1 1/2 sticks margarine, melted1/3 c. cocoa1 box confectioners sugar1/3 c. evaporated milk1 tsp. vanilla1 c. pecans Sift sugar and cocoa; mix with margarine.
