Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 3 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- cocoa - 1/3 c
- shortening - 1 c
- nuts - 1 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Add eggs and beat
- pack marshmallows - 1 item
How to make mississippi mud:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat. Sift flour, cocoa and salt. Add to mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour in 13 1/2 x 9 1/2-inch pan. Bake at 300° for 30 minutes.Remove from oven. Spread on marshmallows. Return to oven and melt marshmallows, then ice with frosting.Frosting for Mississippi Mud:1 1/2 sticks butter, melted1/3 c. cocoa1 box powdered sugar1/2 c. evaporated milk1 tsp. vanilla1 c. nuts Sift sugar and cocoa; mix well with melted butter. Add milk, vanilla and nuts. Spread on cake. Let stand 2 hours.
