Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- cocoa - 1/3 c
- shortening - 1 c
- plain flour
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- vanilla - 3 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- pkg - 1 1/2
- Add eggs and beat
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- pecans - 1 c
How to make mississippi mud cake:
Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat. Sift together flour, cocoa and salt; add to mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 300° for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and spread marshmallows evenly over cake. Return to oven to melt marshmallows, about 10 minutes. Cool for short time.Icing:1 1/2 sticks oleo1 tsp. vanilla1 box powdered sugar1/2 c. evaporated milk1/2 c. cocoa1 c. pecans Sift together sugar and cocoa. Mix with melted oleo.
