Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 3 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- evaporated milk - 1/2 c
- cocoa - 1/3 c
- shortening - 1 c
- plain flour - 1-1/2 c
- miniature marshmallows - 1 pkg
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Add eggs, beat
How to make mississippi mud cake:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, beat. Sift flour, cocoa, and salt. Add to mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 13x9x2-inch pan and bake 35 minutes at 300 degrees. Take out, spread on marshmallows evenly, return to oven for 5 minutes. Take out and apply frosting.Frosting:2 sticks margarine1/2 c. cocoa1 box powdered sugar1/2 c. evaporated milk1 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped nuts Spread on cake, let stand 2 hours.
