- tablespoons cocoa - 2 item
- teaspoon vanilla - 1 item
- cup cocoa - 1/3 item
- 1/3 cups flour - 1 item
- 1/2 cups chopped pecans - 1 item
- cups coconut - 1/3 item
- 1/2 cups coconut - 1 item
- pound box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Pint marshmallow creme to cover cake - 1 item
- Frosting:1 stick margarine melted
How to make mississippi mud cake:
Frosting:1 stick margarine (melted)1/3 cup evaporated milk1/3 cup cocoa1 pound box powdered sugar1 teaspoon vanilla1 cup chopped nuts1/3 cups coconut CAKE: Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Sift flour, cocoa, and salt together and add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Add vanilla, coconut and nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan and bake at 300 or 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Remove from oven and spread marshmallow cream on top. Return to oven until marshmallow cream has melted -- about 10 minutes. Cool and frost.FROSTING: Combine margarine, milk and cocoa in saucepan. Cook on low heat until melted. Add sugar and mix until smooth. Add vanilla and nuts. Spread on cake.
