Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 2 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- well beaten eggs - 2 item
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- cream of tartar - 1 tsp
- coconut or chopped nuts - 1 c
How to make ice box cookies:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, mix well; add vanilla. Sift flour with baking soda and cream of tartar. Add to first mixture, add coconut; Mix thoroughly. Form into rolls 2-inches in diameter. Chill overnight or up to 2 weeks. Cut in thin slices. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350° about 10 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Kid Friendly.
