Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- milk - 1/4 c
- light corn syrup - 1/4 c
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
- food coloring - 1 item
- peppermint extract - 1 item
How to make mints:
In 2-quart glass measuring cup, combine sugar, corn syrup, milk and cream of tartar. Cook on High 5 to 6 minutes or until a few drops of mixture in cold water forms a soft ball (238° on candy thermometer). Let stand 3 minutes to cool slightly. Beat with electric mixer until creamy. Flavor with 8 to 10 drops extract and color with food coloring. Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls onto foil. When cool, store in airtight container.
