Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 2 Tbsp
- medium onion - 1 item
- can cream-style corn - 1 item
- Cheddar cheese, grated - 1 c
- Wesson oil - 2/3 c
- self-rising corn meal
- hot peppers, seeded and chopped - 2 item
How to make mexican cornbread:
Mix all ingredients, except cheese. Grease skillet. Pour in half of dough and spread cheese on top. Pour remainder of dough on top of cheese and then add the last of the cheese on top. Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, North american.
