Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- chopped pecans - 6 oz
- granulated sugar - 3/4 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- egg whites - 2 item
- dash of salt - 1 item
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
How to make meringue cookies:
Beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar until frothy. Gradually add sugar, while beating, and continue beating until mixture gets very stiff and holds shape. Add vanilla. Fold in chocolate and nuts. Drop by teaspoon on foil covered cookie pan. Turn oven on for 30 minutes at 350°. Turn off oven after 30 minutes and place cookies in oven. Leave in cooling oven for 5 hours or overnight. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.Recipe categories: Desserts, Drop cookies, Cookie and brownie.
