Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- honey - 1 Tbsp
- oregano - 1 tsp
- basil - 2 tsp
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- olive oil - 2 3
- black pepper - 3 tsp
- stalks celery, chopped - 2 item
- can tomatoes - 1 oz
- thyme - 1 tsp
- medium bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
- medium zucchini, diced - 1 item
- to 3 tomatoes, chopped - 2 item
- to 5 cloves garlic, minced - 4 item
- white onion, chopped - 1 item
- fresh minced parsley - 1/4 c
- mushrooms, chopped - 1 lb
- handful fresh basil leaves, chopped - 1 item
How to make marinara sauce:
Heat olive oil in Dutch oven. Add onion, bell pepper, celery, mushrooms, zucchini, fresh tomatoes, herbs and salt. Saute over medium heat until onion is soft; add can of tomatoes, tomato paste, honey and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then simmer partially covered for about 30 minutes.
