Maligne lake coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- margarine or butter - 1/4 lb
- cream - 1 Tbsp
- loaf unsliced day old white bread - 1 item
- chopped nuts and cinnamon - 1 item
How to make maligne lake coffee cake:
Trim crusts from top, sides and ends without cutting through bottom crust. Cut down center of loaf lengthwise, then across, into 10 or 12 cubes, not through. Cream together margarine or butter, brown sugar and cream. Spread creamed mixture between, all around and on top of cubes. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and cinnamon. Bake uncovered at 450° for 10 minutes in foil lined bread pan. May be frozen.Recipe categories: Breads, Coffee cakes, Canadian.
