Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 2 c
  • flour - 4 Tbsp
  • butter - 4 Tbsp
  • cream - 1/2 c
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • Tabasco - 1/2 tsp
  • grated Cheddar - 3/4 lb
  • macaroni elbows - 1/2 lb

How to make macaroni and cheese:

Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Add flour, cook 3 minutes to remove raw flour taste. Heat milk in another pan. Add milk to flour mixture and stir well, until almost boiling. Turn down and simmer a few minutes. Add pepper and Tabasco. Stir in cream.

Cook macaroni and drain. Mix 3/4 of cheese into simmering sauce. Add macaroni, pour into baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake 20 to 30 minutes at 350°.
