Macaroni and cheese
Ingredients/Components
- elbow macaroni, uncooked - 2 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- milk - 3 c
- grated onion - 1/4 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- Cheddar or American cheese, grated - 3 c
- buttered bread crumbs - 1/4 c
How to make macaroni and cheese:
Prepare noodles according to package directions. Drain. Melt butter. Add flour, salt, dry mustard and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly for 2 minutes. Do not brown. Add milk, onion and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until smooth and thickened. Stir in cheese until melted.Combine macaroni and cheese sauce. Pour into 2 1/2-quart casserole. Top with crumbs. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
