Low calorie banana bread
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- quick oats - 1 c
- applesauce - 1 c
- margarine, melted - 1/2 c
- whole wheat flour - 1 c
- corn meal - 1 c
- medium bananas, mashed - 4 item
- wheat germ can use crushed corn flakes - 1 c
- to 2 small eggs - 1 item
How to make low calorie banana bread:
In large bowl, mix flour, oats, corn meal and wheat germ. Add rest of ingredients and stir well. Pour into two greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes or until done. Makes 2 loaves with 155 calories per slice.Note: This is a diabetic recipe.
