  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • buttermilk
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • quick oats - 1 c
  • applesauce - 1 c
  • margarine, melted - 1/2 c
  • whole wheat flour - 1 c
  • corn meal - 1 c
  • medium bananas, mashed - 4 item
  • wheat germ can use crushed corn flakes - 1 c
  • to 2 small eggs - 1 item

How to make low calorie banana bread:

In large bowl, mix flour, oats, corn meal and wheat germ. Add rest of ingredients and stir well. Pour into two greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes or until done. Makes 2 loaves with 155 calories per slice.
