Louisiana pecan pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- dash of salt - 1 item
- white Karo syrup - 1 c
- pecan meats - 2 c
- butter size of walnut - 1 item
How to make louisiana pecan pie:
Beat eggs with mixer until light, lemon colored, and frothy. Add sugar and syrup, finely chopped pecan meats (save enough halves to decorate top of pie), vanilla and salt.Pour well-beaten mixture into prepared pie shell. Dot top with butter. Place half pecans on top for decoration.
Bake in oven started at 350° for 10 minutes, lower oven to 300° and continue baking for about 40 minutes. Top should be well browned. Test with sharp knife for readiness...it should come out of the filling coated but not dripping.
