Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- light corn syrup - 1 c
- peppermint extract
- red or green food coloring - 1/2 tsp
How to make lollipops:
In medium saucepan combine sugar, syrup and 1/2 cup water. Cook over medium heat without stirring, until candy thermometer registers 300° or until small amount of mixture forms hard, brittle threads when dropped into cold water. Remove from heat.Cool mixture slightly. Add food coloring and flavoring, blending well. Place 24 small wooden screws, 4-inches apart, on lightly oiled cookie sheets. Drop candy mixture from tip of tablespoon over skewers to form 2 to 3 inch circles. When lollipops have hardened, place on waxed paper to cool completely. Cool in dry place. Do not refrigerate. Makes 24 lollipops.
