- milk - 1 c
- sticks margarine - 2 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- powdered sugar
- plain flour - 3 c
- lemon flavoring - 1 Tbsp
- grated rind of 1 lemon
- eggs room temperature - 5 item
- Start in cold oven
How to make lemon pound cake:
Combine ingredients as listed (add eggs one at a time). Start in cold oven. Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours in a greased tube pan.Topping:4 Tbsp. lemon juice1 1/2 c. powdered sugar grated rind of 1 lemon Beat with mixer; spread on warm cake as a glaze.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Weeknight.
