- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- self-rising flour - 1/2 c
- plain flour
- lemon flavoring - 1 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
How to make lemon pound cake:
Cream together the shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix flours and salt. Add this to the sugar mixture alternately with milk. Add flavoring and lemon juice; mix well. Pour into tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Weeknight.
