- sugar
- milk
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1/3 c
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- melted butter - 2 Tbsp
- lemon juice - 5 Tbsp
- grated lemon peel - 1/2 tsp
- pastry for 1-crust pie
How to make lemon cake pie:
Line a 9-inch pie pan with pastry and flute edges. Mix together sugar, butter, flour, salt, lemon peel and juice. Beat egg yolks. Combine with milk. Stir in lemon mix. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into lemon mixture. Place in crust. Bake on lowest shelf at 375° for 45 to 55 minutes, until top is richly brown and set when lightly touched.
