- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- butter - 1/2 c
- baking powder
- lemon juice - 5 tsp
- grated lemon rind - 1 Tbsp
- plus 2 Tbsp - 1 c
How to make lemon bread:
Preheat oven to 325°. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and lemon rind. Cream 1 cup sugar and butter; add eggs one at a time. Add flour mixture alternately with milk. Stir in 3 of the 5 teaspoons of lemon juice. Bake about 40 minutes. After cooled, mix 2 teaspoons lemon juice and 2 tablespoons sugar and brush on loaves.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Oven.
