Ingredients/Components

  • salt
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • hot water
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/4 c
  • basil - 1/2 tsp
  • hamburger - 2 lb
  • parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • cans tomato paste - 2 oz
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • cloves garlic, chopped - 2 item
  • Mozzarella or Swiss cheese - 1/2 lb
  • olive or salad oil - 2 Tbsp
  • lasagne noodles - 1/2 lb
  • Ricotta or cottage cheese - 1 pt

How to make lasagne:

Cook noodles according to directions. Heat oil; cook garlic and onion until soft, then add beef and the seasonings. Cook until crumbly. Add tomato paste and water. Simmer 5 minutes. Blend eggs and cottage cheese.

In baking dish, 9 x 13 x 2-inches, put thin layer of meat sauce, half noodles, all egg-cheese mixture and half of Mozzarella. Repeat with half remaining meat sauce, rest of noodles, remainder of sauce and Mozzarella. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Makes 8 servings.

Note: May be made day before and baked next day, actually improves flavor.
