Ingredients/Components
- unsifted flour - 3 c
- sugar - 2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- Crisco oil - 1 c
- eggs - 4 item
- orange juice - 1/2 c
- vanilla
- to 8 large apples - 5 item
How to make jewish apple cake:
Beat all ingredients, except apples, together until smooth. Have apples sliced and peeled in a dish. Combine 2/3 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Pour 1/2 of batter into a 10-inch pan that is greased and floured. Put sliced apples around, then sprinkle with 1/2 of the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Pour rest of batter. Make another layer of sliced apples. Sprinkle with remaining sugar and cinnamon mixture. Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Apple.
