- egg yolks - 5 item
- egg whites, stiffly beaten - 5 item
- c sugar - 2 item
- c flour - 2 item
- c shortening - 1/2 item
- c buttermilk - 1 item
- c chopped pecans - 1 item
- t vanilla - 1 item
- t soda - 1 item
- lb margarine - 1/4 item
- sm can chopped coconut - 1 item
How to make italian creme cake:
Combine buttermilk and soda and let stand for a few minutes. Cream together sugar, margarine, and shortening. Add egg yolks one at a time. Add flour alternately with buttermilk mixture. Fold in vanilla, eggs whites, pecans and coconut. Bake at 325 degrees for approximately 25-30 in 3 greased pans.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 60 mins.
