Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- butter - 1/4 c
- buttermilk
- Bisquick - 4 c
- whole wheat flour - 1 c
How to make irish soda bread:
Mix Bisquick, flour and sugar in a large bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Beat eggs slightly, reserve 1 tablespoon. Stir remaining eggs and buttermilk into crumbly mix. Turn dough onto well floured cloth covered board. Knead 20 times. Shape into a ball. Place into well-greased 1 1/2-quart round casserole dish. Cut 4-inch cross in center. Brush dough with reserved egg. Bake at 350° for 60 to 70 minutes. Cool 10 minutes; remove from dish.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Irish.
