Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 Tbsp
• salt - 1 tsp
• flour - 1/2 c
• buttermilk - 1/2 c
• baking powder - 2 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• onion, chopped - 1 item
• corn meal - 1 c

How to make hush puppies:

Mix dry ingredients; add milk, egg and onion. Drop by heaping teaspoon into hot shortening. Fry until golden brown.
