Ingredients/Components

• self-rising flour - 1 c
• egg, beaten - 1 item
• medium onion, finely chopped - 1 item
• sugar optional - 1/2 tsp
• sweet milk - 1 c
• self-rising corn meal - 1 c
• instant garlic powder optional - 1/4 tsp

How to make hush puppies:

Mix all ingredients well. Drop by teaspoonfuls into hot deep fat. Fry until brown as you desire. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
