Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 3/4 1
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- cornmeal - 1 c
- onion, chopped fine - 1 item
How to make hush puppies:
Mix dry ingredients together. Blend in egg, onion and buttermilk. Do not mix too long. Drop by spoonfuls into hot grease. Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.Recipe categories: American, Side dish, Southern u.s..
