Hot sausage and cheese puffs
Ingredients/Components
- water - 3/4 c
- sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded - 1 lb
- biscuit baking mix - 3 c
- hot or sweet Italian sausage, ground - 1 lb
How to make hot sausage and cheese puffs:
Gently fry the sausage. With slotted spoon, remove to a bowl and cool completely. Add the cheese, baking mix and water. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes until puffed and browned.To freeze ahead, arrange in single layer on cookie sheet. Place in plastic bag when frozen.
To reheat, arrange in single layer on cookie sheet and bake at 375° for about 20 minutes.
