Hot chocolate cake



  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 6 Tbsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • pecans - 1 c
  • Crisco oil - 1/2 c
  • box sifted powdered sugar - 1 item
  • Bring butter, cocoa, Crisco oil and water to a boil

How to make hot chocolate cake:

Sift flour and sugar into large bowl and set aside. Bring butter, cocoa, Crisco oil and water to a boil. Add to flour mixture. Add buttermilk, baking soda and vanilla. Bake in a 9 x 14-inch pan (greased and floured). Bake in 375° preheated oven for 35 minutes.Icing:1 stick butter4 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 box sifted powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 c. pecans Bring butter, cocoa and milk to a rolling boil and remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until thoroughly mixed. Add pecans. Stir. Pour over cake. May be served cool or hot.
