Home-style macaroni and cheese
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 7 oz
- milk - 2 c
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 3 Tbsp
- butter or margarine, melted - 2 Tbsp
- 8 oz - 2 c
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- fresh parsley - 2 Tbsp
- fresh bread crumbs - 1 c
- country-style Dijon mustard - 2 tsp
How to make home-style macaroni and cheese:
Heat oven to 400°. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. Meanwhile, in 3-quart saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter; stir in flour. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth and bubbly. Stir in milk, cream cheese, salt, pepper and mustard. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thickened (3 to 4 minutes). Stir in macaroni and cheese. Pour into 2-quart casserole. In small bowl, stir together remaining ingredients; sprinkle over macaroni and cheese.
