Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • water - 3 c
  • garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
  • chopped onion - 3/4 c
  • oregano - 1/4 tsp
  • basil - 1/2 tsp
  • thyme - 1/4 tsp
  • dry lentils - 3/4 c
  • brown rice - 1/2 c
  • chicken seasoning - 2 Tbsp
  • Swiss or Jack cheese, shredded - 6 oz

How to make herbed lentils and rice:

Mix all, leaving 2 ounces of cheese to put on top. Pour into ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Bake, covered, in a 350° oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring every 1/2 hour. Top with remaining cheese and return to oven to melt. Serves 6.
