Herbed lentils and rice
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- water - 3 c
- garlic powder - 1/8 tsp
- chopped onion - 3/4 c
- oregano - 1/4 tsp
- basil - 1/2 tsp
- thyme - 1/4 tsp
- dry lentils - 3/4 c
- brown rice - 1/2 c
- chicken seasoning - 2 Tbsp
- Swiss or Jack cheese, shredded - 6 oz
How to make herbed lentils and rice:
Mix all, leaving 2 ounces of cheese to put on top. Pour into ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Bake, covered, in a 350° oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring every 1/2 hour. Top with remaining cheese and return to oven to melt. Serves 6.Recipe categories: Side dish, Main dish, Brown rice.
