  • butter - 1 item
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • medium onion - 1 item
  • salt and pepper - 1 item
  • uncooked rice - 2 c
  • cans beef broth - 2 item
  • small can sliced mushrooms - 1 item

How to make hamburger rice casserole:

In skillet, brown ground beef (season with salt and pepper to taste). Strain meat and set aside. Dice onion and pour water off of mushrooms. You can use the same skillet to melt butter and brown the onion and mushrooms. After you have done this, return the ground beef to the skillet and reheat.

In a 2 or 3-quart covered dish, pour in the ground beef. Pour the rice on top. Then pour the beef broth on top. Cover and cook at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until rice is fluffy. Stir after 30 minutes.
