  • brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • lime juice - 2 Tbsp
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • sliced green onions - 1/2 c
  • soy sauce - 2/3 c
  • red wine - 1 c
  • flank steak - 1 (1
  • can consomme - 1 1/2

How to make grilled flank steak:

Trim excess fat from steak. Score on both sides in 1 1/2-inch squares. Place in large shallow dish. Combine remaining ingredients. Stir well. Pour over steak and marinate 8 hours, turning occasionally. Drain steak, reserving marinade. Grill over medium coals 7 to 9 minutes on each side, basting twice with marinade. To serve, slice across grain into thin slices. Makes approximately 6 servings.
