Great pumpkin cookies
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- brown sugar - 2 c
- semi-sweet chocolate chips - 1 c
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- butter or margarine, softened
- ground cinnamon - 2 tsp
- can pumpkin - 1 oz
- quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked - 2 c
- assorted icings or peanut butter - 1 item
- assorted candies, raisins and nuts - 1 item
How to make great pumpkin cookies:
Preheat oven to 350°. Combine flour, oats, soda, cinnamon and salt; set aside. Cream butter; gradually add sugars, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Alternate additions of dry ingredients and pumpkin, mixing well after each addition. Stir in morsels.For each cookie, drop 1/4 cup dough onto lightly greased cookie. Spread into pumpkin shape, using a thin metal spatula. Add a bit more dough to form stem. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes, until cookies are firm and lightly browned. Decorate, using icing or peanut butter. Make pumpkin faces! Children love to decorate them!
